Instructions for Authors

Abstract submission

Authors wishing to participate in the 5th Meeting of the Young Researchers of LAETA should register and submit a 500-word abstract until November 15, 2021. Abstracts may be written in Portuguese or English.

Abstracts must be submitted through the submission system available at the author’s account page. A maximum of 2 abstract submissions are allowed by author.

Digital and printed Book-of-Abstracts, with ISBN number, will be edited with the abstracts accepted for presentation at the meeting.

Paper submission

Authors participating in the 5th Meeting of the Young Researchers of LAETA are invited to submit a full paper of their work (max. 10 pages, in Portuguese or English). Papers will be available at the meeting website for registered users.

The full papers must be submitted through the submission system available at the author’s account page – the abstract submitted to 5EJIL must be edited and the full paper must be attached to the submission. The documents must follow the following template:

Presentations

Classical oral and poster presentations are contemplated in the 5th Meeting of the Young Researchers of LAETA. Presentations may be in Portuguese or English, according to the authors’ wishes.

Oral presentations must not take longer than 15 minutes, including at least 3 minutes for discussion. The lecture rooms will contain a Windows 10 PC with Office 2016 and Acrobat PDF Reader connected to a data projector. The use of personal computers is allowed, but discouraged. The files required for the presentation should be uploaded and tested to ensure compatibility during the coffee or lunch breaks before the sessions.

Posters must be A0 size (841 mm x 1189 mm) in portrait format. Tacks and technical equipment for the hanging of posters will be available for your convenience.

"Professor Mário Costa" Young Researcher Award

The “Professor Mário Costa” Young Researcher Award, in honor of Professor Mário Costa for his national and international scientific contribution to the field of combustion, will be awarded at the 5th Meeting of the Young Researchers of LAETA to the best scientific work developed within LAETA and presented at the meeting.

The winner of “Professor Mário Costa” Young Researcher Award will receive as prize the financial support for a registration fee in one national or international conference, up to 500 (five hundred) euros.

Authors wishing to apply for the award must submit the full paper of their work, through the online submission system, along with the, duly signed, application form. Please see the award rules for further detail on the application requirements.

Registration

  • Regular fee 200€

    Congress fee includes: access to the meeting sessions, meeting abstracts, lunchs, coffee breaks, and dinner event.

  • The conference registration fee should be paid before the conference meeting date.
  • Bank collection fees are the responsibility of the sender.
  • Presenting authors should have a paid registration by March 1, 2022 in order to ensure inclusion in the program and abstract publication.
  • Cancellation Policy: Registration fee will be refunded with a cancellation fee of 40 EUR if a request is received in writing (e-mail) by March 1, 2022. After this date NO refund will be made.
